Independent Portuguese artist, lives and works in Lisbon.

Graduated in Advertising, since 2004, after studying drawing and painting dedicated herself to Visual Arts.

Her work focuses on a research around human nature, existence, and the evolutionary process of the human being, and the repercussions at an individual and collective level. Uses media from drawing, painting, performance, installation, among others. Through expository and performative work, intends to involve the public, usually appears as a figure that integrates the exhibition itself, a piece that complements the art works, Involve the public in the presentation with the intention of creating an aura of unity and belonging. The public integrates the exhibition and forms the whole of the exhibition object.

It is her wish to improve the understanding of human nature and existence, and through it discover the principles that govern life, following them with integrity and transmitting them through my work and personal example.

Her first solo exhibition was in 2009 at the Medeiros e Almeida Foundation in Lisbon and in 2016 Sofia participated in a collective exhibition at SESC Ipiranga, in São Paulo curated by Maria de Fátima Lambert. Sofia has since than worked both in Portugal and in Brazil.
